Who is Miss Lim (Lim Ko Niao) ? Why is it worshiped by people? Some people say that Miss Lim is very magical. She was originally a “ghost”. Because she often appeared and helped many people, she was placed in a temple by the local people and became a local “goddess”.

It turns out that the main reason why local people worship Miss Lim so much is related to the abandoned mosque not far from the temple dedicated to Miss Lim.
Why is there an abandoned mosque in Pattani, a city with a large concentration of Muslims? Moreover, many overseas tourists who come here are deeply curious about the abandoned mosque. Why is there an abandoned mosque next to the Chinese temple? Why don’t the Muslims here continue to build it?
Someone once asked the tour guide: Seeing that the mosque is 90% complete, what is the reason for the stagnation of the project? The tour guide said that all the causes and consequences are related to the goddess Lim.

Three lightning strikes, curse effect
It is said that when the mosque was being built, it was destroyed by lightning every time it was about to be completed. This happened three times in total. Later, when the Muslims living here wanted to resume work, accidents occurred and the project was abandoned.

It is absolutely true that the mosque was struck by lightning three times. The main reason was that Miss Lim did not want to see the mosque built. This was because the curse that Miss Lim cast when she hanged herself from a tree cursed her brother Lim Toh Kiem to never be able to bring him to justice. The mosque was built.
According to local rumors, Miss Lim persuaded her brother Lim Toh Kiem to return to his ancestral home to see his elderly mother. After many attempts, she could not convince him to go back, so she decided to sacrifice herself to express her feelings and hanged herself on a jujube tree.
Before she died, she cursed that the mosque her brother was building would never succeed. His brother Lim Toh Kiem felt very sad when he saw that his sister had lost her life, so he built a tomb in Gesha Village and held a grand funeral ceremony according to Chinese customs.
After his sister’s funeral, Lim Toh Kiem started building the mosque again. However, when it reached the roof, it was struck by lightning and collapsed. The roof construction failed three times in a row, so Lim Toh Kiem stopped building the roof. The leader of Gesha was afraid of Miss Lim’s spell and did not dare to continue building the mosque. He allowed the mosque to lie deserted.

New year celebrations and year-end wishes
From then on, the locals believed that Miss Lim’s curse was effective. So people began to worship in front of Miss Lim’s tomb and pray to Miss Lim, and all their wishes came true. Later, the local people even made a golden body of Miss Lim and enshrined it in the temple, worshiping Miss Lim as a god who responded to all requests.
Later, word of Miss Lim’s apparition gradually spread, and more and more people came to worship her. Whether they were sick, had unsatisfactory things, or had bad business, as long as they prayed to her, they would get their wishes, so people called her Lim. The girl is a goddess.
Legend has it that Miss Lim was an unmarried girl when she committed suicide, so she also liked rouge, gouache and bead necklaces like other girls. If your wish comes true, you can buy a white bead chain for Miss Lim, because she likes white bead chains best.
